Well, Katniss' time in the Tournament of Heroines has come to an end. She was beaten by Tessa (The Infernal Devices) last night in an insanely close match. Okay, so it wasn't that close (Tessa won by 603 votes), but over 13,000 people voted.
And I am proud of the fact that even at those numbers, Team Katniss managed to stay right up there with Team Tessa and never once fell behind. That's a victory in my eyes!
It has been such an honor to be Katniss' advocate. Not only did I get to represent the Mockingjay--one of my all-time favorite heroines--but I also got to meet so many new people along the way, and was even introduced to a few new books because of it. We had a great blackout party, some awesome giveaways (you can still enter to win a TK shirt), and some seriously sweet Team Katniss experiences (remember the hilarious tweets from the Blackout Party?). In the end, this is what the tournament is all about, and I am glad I got to be a part of it.
But it wasn't just me! So many of you have devoted your time, tweets, texts, blog posts, and hearts to the cause. THANK YOU! Team Katniss could not have come this far if it weren't for you.
You, Team Katniss, are the greatest!
I wish I could thank everyone personally, but that's just not possible. There were SO many people involved in this, it would take days to track everyone down. But here are some Tweeters whose efforts stood out (in no particular order). Thank you all for your efforts to push Katniss towards the final round.
I may have missed a few, so please forgive me if your name is not on this list.
And finally, a HUGE thank you goes out to the YA Sisterhood for hosting the tournament!
Now it's time to focus on the movie!
Bring on the Hunger Games. I'm ready.
....no really, I'm ready. I've got my tissues and everything. ;)
