Top 10 0f 2011: Book Boyfriends

It's a Team Katniss BLACKOUT match this week for the Heroine Tourney! Join us?

I've joined in the Top 10 of 2011 meme, hosted by Jamie and Patricia from Two Chicks on Books, and Rachel from Fiktshun. It will be a week-long event, with a different topic each day.

Today's topic is:

Top 10 Book Boyfriends of 2011

These weren't so hard to choose as I though they would be. Turns out I'm pretty picky, and the hard part was coming up with a full 10. Go figure.

10. Dane Madousin
Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund
Yes, yes, I'm grasping at straws. I loved his character though, and the way he interacted with the MC. Very gentleman-like.

9. Beckett Rush
There You'll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones
There's just something about him that appealed to me, although I really can't put it into words.

8. Eddie Castile
Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead
Eddie! His character arc is fantastic. After a life-changing experience, he goes from being a clueless follower and horrible fighter, to one of the best fighters the academy puts out--second to Rose, of course. He is the epitome of loyalty, honor, and friendship, and that is very sexy.

7. Kishan Rajaram
Tiger's Curse series by Colleen Houck
I've only read the first book in this series so far, but the few chapters that Kishan was in, were totally awesome. I was in love with Ren (his brother) until he came into the picture. Sexy, dangerous, and not afraid to make a move on his brother's girl, when he thinks she could be treated better. I like him.

6. Etienne St. Clair
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Okay, so this book came out last year, but I read it for the first time this year. I think we ALL know why this guy is on this list. *wink, wink*

5. Sykes
The Guardian Legacy by Ednah Walters
Yes, so Bran is all broody and mysterious and caring, and he's the guy the MC chose to be with...but I choose Sykes; the funny, sexy, and hugely protective other option. He's always there when the MC needs someone to talk to after Bran has hurt her feelings, and he can always sense when something is wrong with her, and immediately takes action against whoever was the cause. So what if he's a bit of a player? I like to live life dangerously. ;)

4. Daemon Black
Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Obsidian)
I don't know why I find this guy so appealing since he is a jerk for the entire book, but I am totally feeling his alien vibes or something, because I am smitten. Completely, utterly, smitten.

3. Dimitri Belikov & Adrian Ivashkov
Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead
Had to put these two together, because I go back and forth on which is my favorite. All I can say is this: sexy, sentimental, and brave. Bam.

2. Finn Mac Cumhaill
The Goblin Wars series - Kersten Hamilton
He's The Mac Cumhaill (yes, that Mac Cumhaill)! The one man born to fight Goblin-kind. He's got a sexy Irish brogue, a strong upper-cut, and a killer smile. And when he meets Teagan for the first time, he faints. HE faints! Love at first sight. He's smart, knows how to get out of sticky situations, and would follow Teagan to the ends of the Earth (or, more accurately: to the darkest parts of Faerie) just to keep her safe.

1. Jonah Griggs
Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
I've been crushing on this guy ever since I first read about him. What I like most about him is that he's still just a boy--he likes to argue, can't back down from a fight, is a bit of a bully, and finds humor in immature things--but he's also beginning to mature, and is able to step up and act like a man when it counts. He's big, tall, and strong, but he's not described as a perfect God-like person; he doesn't know everything and isn't the hottest guy alive, but he's quick-witted, and can sure be a charmer when he wants to. He can't bring himself to admit to Taylor that he likes her, so instead he teases and taunts her until he finally takes the plunge. Plus, he understands Taylor better than anyone else does.
He's a boy who is growing into a man, and that is absolutely perfect for his character in the book. I've fallen quite in love with him.

What are your top picks?

Past topics:

  1. I love how you thought of Eddie! He deserves it! <3 And I know that I've said it before to someone - I can't believe I forgot to mention Etienne myself!

I really love your list! <3 (Especially because I have someone new to blame for my next bookshopping excess LOL) I've just noticed that I hadn't liked you on Facebook yet. - Done now!

  2. I haven't read a single one of these books. Sounds like I'm missing out on some pretty amazing guys!

  3. Awww Eddie! He totally makes my book boyfriend list but not my top 10. Daemon's been a popular pick today lol We're all feeling his alien vibes lol

Have you checked out my Getting Ready for 2012 Giveaway?

  4. Team Eddie all the way! He is so awesome. Although I do not have book boyfriends I do like Sam from The Wolves of Mercy Falls, Tucker from Unearthly and Brigan from Fire.

  5. Ah! I cannot believe I did not even think of Eddie or Beckett, both of them are awesome though. Fantastic picks!

  6. Ooh, nice picks! I read both of Stephanie Perkins's books this year, but didn't put Etienne on my list. Cricket's the one that stole my heart! Haha, here's my list.

  7. I have been seeing Anna and the French Kiss boy everywhere, I haven't read the book, but it is looking like I need to look into reading it

  8. Love how different your picks are (also, Adrian MUCH better than Dimitri ;)) EVERYONE seems to have picked Daemon, I need to read this book.

    The Cait Files

  9. I've been afraid to read Jellicoe Road b/c of all the tissue use that'll happen but I'm thinking if Jonah is involved, I could bring myself to read that great book! I'm such a wuss!!!

    Awesome list!!!

  11. Ah, Jonah Griggs is so lovely. I always have to refer to him by his full name is seems, I don't know why. But yes, definitely worth a number 1 choice, and I love the way you described him. <3

Adore St. Clair, and both Adrian and Dimitri too.

  12. How have I not read nearly any of these? More books for the TBR. :) I do love Jonah Griggs, though. And I'm with Ashley, he's always Jonah Griggs in my head, too.
