Heroine Tourney BLACKOUT: Vote For Katniss!

It's time again! Voting is now open!
Well our blackout match for the Tournament of Heroines (hosted by the YA Sisterhood) has just begun, and things have gotten off to a fantastic start. Katniss is currently up against Alex from Half-Blood, and they're pushing a hard campaign, so don't hesitate to vote. Every vote counts! :) The poll closes at midnight tonight, EST.

The Team Katniss Blackout Twitter Party was a success (despite my complete naivete of how much work such a thing required). The time flew by so quickly and I didn't have time to do everything I planned, but it still went well.

I was so touched by the answers I got to the questions I asked. The Hunger Games series (especially Katniss) has touched so many people, and that was definitely apparent the the tweets I saw tonight. Of course, there were also some hilarious tweets that gave us all some good laughs. If you had any doubts about voting for Katniss, they will have been abolished by the amazing tweets that came through.

In case you missed it, here are some of the highlights:

Question 1:
In 140 characters or less, why are YOU voting for Katniss? What sets her apart from the other competitors?

Question 2:
Weaknesses can turn into strengths. What weakness does Katniss have, and how does it become a strength?

Question 3:
Lightning round: If you could give Katniss one more nickname, what would it be?

Question 4:
What would you say to convince #HalfBloodLegion to vote for Katniss?

And an extra little something special:

Thanks for making this such a great Twitter party! I loved reading your answers, and I loved seeing all the blacked-out twitter pages, icons, and blogs. You are all so awesome!!

We also have winners! I drew from the participants of the #TKBLACKOUT party randomly using RowFeeder and Random.org. Here are those who were chosen:

If I don't hear back from you by tomorrow night, I'll have to pick another winner, so be sure to DM or email me your shipping info!

And lastly, congratulations to Tayte Hunter, for winning the glass tile pendant giveaway from last week! I'll be emailing you soon, so keep an eye out for it.

Thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway, and joined in on the blackout party. It was a huge success!

  1. I haven't read either of the books (yet) but I voted for Katniss out of solidarity for you, Penelope!

Although I can't help but feel Katniss has an advantage because her movie is coming out next year...

  2. Lissa, I do have to agree with you. I think with the movie coming out, Hunger Games has grown in popularity. Thanks so much for voting for Katniss, though! :)

  3. I totally agree with so many of these comments. Katniss is a remarkably strong character and even when she makes mistakes and we're screaming at her to stop, we're still hoping for the best, cheering for her to succeed because that's how amazing and profound a character she is.

    Smiles!

Thanks for commenting! I read each and every one, and reply as soon as I can :)

Please note: The Reading Fever is an award-free zone. I am very flattered, but comments are all the thanks I need.
