Foreign Cover Friday: A Christmas Carol

Important:
Due to plans for the Heroine Tourney, I will not be doing FCF for the next two weeks (cross your fingers for a big win!).
I'll see you again with another FCF post on the 13th of Jan.!

Foreign Cover Friday is a weekly meme hosted by me (The Reading Fever), where foreign covers of the books we know and love are spotlighted and discussed. To join, either pick your favorite foreign cover, or pick many foreign covers, and start discussing!

This week's featured cover is:

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
English language editions

There are, quite frankly: 1,027 cover variations for A Christmas Carol. That's a lot. WAY more than Twilight, which until now, held the record in all the FCF posts I've done for the most covers. As a result, I have not included all of the covers for this book. I went through and tried to pick at least one cover from each language it is available in, and then added some others that I liked, or found interesting. I may have missed one or two languages, so please forgive me. I may have also missed some cool covers.

My favorite cover is this first one on the left. I think the knocker is really cool, and I love that deep red that fades to black, plus the title across the bottom.

More english language editions, including the movie tie-in edition (right)

  1. I like the English cover on the left for the same reasons you mentioned. It just looks so cool. I had no idea there could be so many covers for one book.

  3. Wow--I had no idea there were THAT many covers for A Christmas Carol!

Can't say I'm a fan of the green and red English edition--each time I glance at it, it looks like a football gridiron, marked up with playbook plans.

I do like French edition on the far right and the red and gold Italian cover!

    Smiles!

Thanks for commenting! I read each and every one, and reply as soon as I can :)

Please note: The Reading Fever is an award-free zone. I am very flattered, but comments are all the thanks I need.
