This week, I am eagerly waiting on:

Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnik
Publisher: HarperTEEN
Genre: Contemporary, Young Adult
Publication Date: 8.2.2011
At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you. Case in point:

• As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school—not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.

• As the daughter of the new principal, new-girl-on-campus Elise Benton isn’t exactly on everyone’s must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.

When Elise’s beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince’s best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant. But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long. Fans of Susane Colasanti (When It Happens), Polly Shulman (Enthusiasm), and, of course, Jane Austen will love finding out if Elise’s love life will be an epic win or an epic fail.

So this book caught my eye because of the title; it's pretty cool if you ask me. After reading the description, I know what I was thinking: another version of Pride and Prejudice? But this one sounds like it will be very interesting, and, well, you really can't go wrong with the Pride and Prejudice storyline. I'm way excited for it! :)

  13. I'm thinking I'll like this book and find it very cute and funny or not like it because it might be filled with lots of unlikable characters. Its certainly looks like a fun pick :)

  14. I had never heard of this one before! But I LOVE Jane Austen novels. Some adaptations turn out well like Clueless for Emma, and this one sounds charming. Plus, as you said, I love the title. Ah, the 21st century :).

Also, I'm new here, but can I say how much I love the name of your blog? And the fever meter? I definitely suffer from the reading fever :).

Thanks for commenting! I read each and every one, and reply as soon as I can :)

Please note: The Reading Fever is an award-free zone. I am very flattered, but comments are all the thanks I need.
