Foreign Cover Friday: Fablehaven

I apologize, since I'm a little late getting this posted. But hey, it's here! :)

Foreign Cover Friday is a weekly meme hosted by me (The Reading Fever), where foreign covers of the books we know and love are spotlighted and discussed. To join, either pick your favorite foreign cover, or pick many foreign covers, and start discussing!

This week's featured cover is:

Fablehaven, by Brandon Mull

First off, I love this series. LOVE it! Brandon Mull created such an escape of a world, and he made it fun for everyone. Anyway, this cover I have to admit, is a little creepy...but that's what drew me to it. I had to know what this crazy-looking old woman was doing sitting on that stump. It really works for the book.
Now on to the foreign covers! :)

These first three covers are the French edition, and then two German editions (one is paperback and the other hardcover). The first two aren't very different from the US version, but the third cover is. I think the colors on the second cover are too saturated, but I like the third cover a lot.
French translation: The Secret Sanctuary
German translations: Fable Home: A Novel

These covers both have an animated look, but I think it works for them. The first cover is the Dutch edition, and the second is the UK edition. I love, love, love, the red sparkly, flowing look of the UK title. I also like that the creatures are surrounding the kids. The Dutch edition is cool too, but I can't place what event it's depicting in the book (can anyone else?). Anyway, I think these two covers would appeal the most to the target age group, don't you?

These two are my personal favorites. The cover on the left is the Indonesian cover, and I LOVE that the children are walking under giant roots in what looks like a huge scary forest. With the boy looking backward, you just know something's up...I would definitely pick this book up in a bookstore. Translation: Fablehaven: Book one - The words under The Secret Sanctuary mean: Secret Asylum
The second cover is the Italian edition, and I am in love with the swirly design around the font and the swan. It's so pretty! I honestly can't remember what the swan has to do with the book either (it's been a few years), but I love this cover. Translation: The Refuge of Fantastic Creatures.

What are your thoughts?
Which covers do you like? Which do you hate?
