This week, I am waiting on:

The City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry (an imprint of Simon & Schuster)
Genre: Young Adult, Urban Fantasy, Paranormal
Publication: 4.5.2011
City of Fallen Angels takes place two months after the events of City of Glass. In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever. Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

It's no small secret that I love The Mortal Instruments series. I've even ordered the MI bling to show for it. The last book in the series (City of Glass) was my favorite, and it had an epic ending...but it left me frustrated for days, because it left off with one tiny little phrase that hinted at negative events in the next book. If you've read the series, you know what I'm talking about, and you know that this thing cannot be let come to pass! I refuse it! *sigh* Needless to say, I cannot wait for The City of Fallen Angels to come out. I cannot wait to embrace this book, and devour it in one night. Because I am not stopping until I have read all the way to the end. Who's with me?

Tiny Tip: Did you know Cassandra Clare posted teasers for CoFA every month last year? You can see them all on her website.

  1. Oh yes! I'm excited for this one as well! I can't WAIT!

  2. I too am desperately waiting on this one! I was slightly disappointed by Clockwork Angel, but I'm hoping in returning to our original characters (instead of the carbon copies set in another time) everything will again be fabulous

  3. Thanks for your visits Gina and Candace! I'm SO excited for this one!

Gina, I heard that from a few other people, which was kind of disappointing because I was really looking forward to Clockwork Angel. I have read it yet, but I just got it from the library and will start it when I'm done reading a few others. Ah, well. Maybe it will hold me over until CoFA comes out.

  4. I hope you do! It's one of my favorites.

  5. Same here I will read this series, Great Pick
